April blog from ElevateHer International — Empowering women to heal, grow, and thrive across the globe!
Letter From Our CEO
Dear Friends,
The past few months have been full as we prepared for our annual gala. While the work behind the scenes is extensive, the evening itself reminded us why it matters so deeply. Because of you, our community, it continues to be one of our most impactful fundraisers and a powerful gathering of purpose.
This year felt different. There was a noticeable shift in the room, a deeper attentiveness, a stronger connection to the message we’ve been carrying all along: when women heal, communities change. We saw hearts open, understanding deepen, and many of you commit to walking alongside us beyond a single evening. The gala has become more than an event; it is a launching pad into the work ahead.
As we move forward, a central focus for this year is sustainability through leadership development. We are investing in equipping leaders to become trauma informed because we know that when leaders are trauma informed, women and girls are safer. Our first step toward that goal is a 6-week leadership cohort online starting on April 15th.
We invite you to continue this journey with us, not only through your support, but through your prayers. Pray that we would steward this work with boldness and wisdom. Pray that God would provide the people and resources needed to meet the growing needs of women globally. And pray that, even as we labor, we would find moments of true rest.
Thank you for standing with us, believing in this mission, and helping to create spaces where healing can flourish.
With gratitude,
Dieula M. Previlon

6-Week Trauma Informed Leaders Cohort Online
Meeting the trauma healing needs of women requires leaders who are equipped, aware, and compassionate. That’s why we’ve invested intentional time and care into creating our 6-week Trauma-Informed Leaders Cohort, launching April 15th.
This virtual cohort will meet Wednesdays from 7–9 PM EST and is designed to provide foundational tools, practical skills, and a clear pathway for leaders to create lasting impact in their communities. Whether you are a pastor, community organizer, lay leader, facilitator interested in hosting a healing circle, or someone making key decisions that affect others; this space is for you.
Participants will receive a copy of Does God See Me? (if you don’t already have one), along with the official Leader’s Guide Workbook (this cohort will be the first to receive it). More than that, you’ll step into a growing community of leaders committed to healing centered work.
Register today! Spots are filling quickly.
New Resources on our website
Our desire is to make healing accessible and available to women and communities everywhere. As part of that commitment, we’ve been intentionally expanding the Resources section on our website.
There, you’ll find a growing collection of books, journals, healing planners, and curated links designed to support your learning and personal growth. New this month, we’ve added Toolkits! Practical, focused resources created to help you gain tools in specific areas of healing and leadership.
We invite you to explore, engage, and share these resources with others who may benefit. This page will continue to grow, so be sure to visit often and stay connected to what’s new.

Grant Writing Team Update
One of the greatest challenges in the nonprofit space is fundraising and like many organizations, we’ve felt that deeply. For months, we searched for the right person to support our grant writing efforts, but doors didn’t quite open the way we expected. Instead, God led us to build something even more powerful: a grant writing team.
We are incredibly grateful for this growing team of committed individuals who are helping us strengthen our foundation and prepare for what’s ahead. While we haven’t received funding through these efforts just yet and have heard more “no’s” than “yes’s”, we believe this season is not wasted. It is a time of building, refining, and getting ready for the opportunities to come.
Would you pray for us as we continue this work? Pray for open doors, favor, and the right partnerships. And if you have skills or experience in grant writing or research, we would love to connect with you. Please reach out, we would gladly welcome you to the team.
Join Us in Simple Ways to Make a Big Impact
In this season, we have learned that this work cannot be done with just one or two people. It requires entire communities coming together to lend a hand in big and small ways.
Give Directly – Every gift makes a difference.
Make Connections – Introduce us to your community: friends, foundations, grant opportunities, businesses, or leaders we can partner with.
Host a Fundraising Dinner – Gather friends, share a meal, and share our mission.
Create a Campaign – We’ll give you the tools and resources to fundraise on our behalf.
Share our work on social media.
Together, we can open more doors for women to heal and lead from their healing.
Prayer Requests:
Would you join us in prayer as we continue this work? Your prayers strengthen us more than you know.
We ask that you would pray against discouragement; that in moments of waiting, we would remain steadfast, hopeful, and anchored in truth.
Pray that God would hear our prayers and provide; bringing the right people, resources, and opportunities at the right time.
Pray that God would see the needs of His daughters and respond with care, provision, and healing in ways only He can.
Reflection for you: Yet I will…Habakkuk
Devotion: “Yet I Will…”
A few days ago, I reached out to one of our women leaders in Haiti to check in on her. Her response was honest and heavy:
"nou fatigue paske nou fenk komanse nap cherche strateji pou nou ede fe travay la ak moins energie. M santim strese, Msanti ke m lou. Se komsi m santi map pote yon chaj mwen seul ke personn pa wè. Pafwa msanti mta lage tout bagay."
"We are tired, and we just started the work… I’m stressed, my heart is heavy. It’s like I’m carrying a load by myself and no one sees me. Sometimes I feel like letting everything go."
This is the reality for many of our leaders. They are carrying so much in the midst of instability in their countries and they do it often unseen, and alone. Their words echo a familiar cry found in Habakkuk 1: “How long, O Lord?” This is a lament that usually rises from weary souls like our sister in Haiti.
This weekend, I participated in a pre-planning retreat for our upcoming trip to Malaysia with a partnership with Come Before Winter (more on this partnership later). As I was entering the retreat, I found myself in a similar place; tired, carrying my own quiet lament. And unbeknownst to me we were getting ready to dive deep into a study on Habakkuk that held both grief and hope. We spent some time in the “How long” portions of Habakkuk and then this part which carries the title of the study, Yet I will…:
“Though the fig tree does not blossom
and no fruit is on the vines…
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will exult in the God of my salvation.”
—Habakkuk 3:17–18
What I rediscovered this weekend is: lament does not deny our pain; it gives it language. It allows us to name the weight, the exhaustion, the disappointment. But it does not end there. It creates space for a sacred turning: “Yet I will…”
Not because everything has changed.
Not because the burden is suddenly lifted.
But because God is still present in the midst of it all.
Today, we hold both truths:
We are tired… yet we will trust.
We feel unseen… yet we are known by God.
We carry weighty burdens… yet we are not alone.
Would you join me and our sister in Haiti in offering a lament that leads us gently into a “Yet I will…”?
Reflection Questions
Where do you feel tired, heavy, or unseen right now?
What is your honest lament before God today?
What might your personal “Yet I will…” sound like in this season?
Where have you seen even a small glimpse of God’s presence in your weariness?
Body Practice: Grounding “Yet I Will” (2–3 minutes)
Sit or stand with your feet firmly planted on the ground. Notice the support beneath you.
Place one hand over your heart and one on your abdomen.
Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of 4… hold for 4… exhale gently for 4. Repeat 3–4 times.
As you inhale, silently name your lament (e.g., “I am tired… I feel overwhelmed…”).
As you exhale, whisper your “Yet I will…” (e.g., “Yet I will trust You… Yet I will keep going…”).
After a few breaths, sit quietly and notice any shift in your body, your breath, or your awareness.
This week as we enter into Holy Week, remember Jesus’s “Yet I will…” that’s made it possible for us to be able to say “Yet I will…”..
