June Newsletter
June blog from ElevateHer International — Keeping You Connected as We Empower Women to Heal, Grow, and Thrive Around the World
A Letter From Our CEO
Dear Friend,
In a season filled with turmoil around the world, it’s easy to feel hopeless—so much so that giving up can seem like the only option. But I want to encourage you: don’t give up. Don’t give up on doing good. Don’t give up on joining God in the work of helping women and communities flourish.
At ElevateHer, we remain unwavering in our mission to empower women to heal from trauma, grow in faith, and thrive in purpose. Whether it's through healing circles, trauma-informed trainings, or providing sewing machines to women in Mombasa, we are still deeply engaged in the work.
I’m especially proud of our board and our newly formed advisory board—an incredible group of women and men who have said "yes" to coming alongside ElevateHer to help us reach our goals. I look forward to sharing more of our collaborative work with you in the months to come.
Recently, I paused to take in just how much is happening at ElevateHer—and I want you to feel the same joy I experience doing this work every day. That’s why we’ve created this monthly newsletter: a space for you to stay informed, inspired, and connected. Take what you need, and if it blesses you, share it with others.
In the meantime, we ask for your prayers as we continue crafting a strategic plan for a sustainable, impactful future.
With Hope and anticipation,
Dieula Previlon

ElevateHer - US: HealHer Circle on Grief with Keisha Polonio, LCSW
At ElevateHer, we believe healing is best actualized in relationships. Our HealHer Circles are sacred spaces for women to process trauma, grieve honestly, and find strength in community.
This month, we were honored to welcome guest speaker Keisha Polonio, who led our Grief HealHer Circle online. Though this circle is currently closed. Keep following us for future opportunities to join a circle.

ElevateHer - US: Breaking The Silence: Addressing Domestic Violence in the Haitian Diaspora Community
To everyone who attended our Domestic Violence Webinar—thank you.
We were honored to have 61 faith leaders and community members come together with open hearts, curious minds, and courageous voices. Your honesty, thoughtful questions, and collective desire to learn and lead change left us deeply encouraged.
A special thank-you to our speakers, Lionel Latouche and Dr. Johanne Louis, for your wisdom, vulnerability, and leadership. Your insights helped us all take a deeper look at the root causes of violence in our communities and imagine what healing can look like. And also a big thank you to Mercy Center of NJ for their partnership.
This is just the beginning. Together, we are building a movement to challenge and dismantle violence—starting with conversation and ending with transformation.
ElevateHer - French Translation Campaign: "Does God See Me?" Update
Last month we launched a campaign to fund the French translation of Dieula’s book, "Does God See Me?" a leading curriculum for Elevateher trainings. Our goal is to ensure women in French-speaking regions can access this life-changing resource in their own language. Though we have not yet met our goal, here’s a quick update on what we accomplished so far:
Goal: $8,500
Raised: $2,305
We will keep the campaign open to ensure we are equipped and ready to have a successful translated book for the women in Haiti, DR Congo and more. It’s not too late for you to be a part of this transformative project. Join us to the finish line.
Help us reach our goal
ElevateHer - Nairobi, Kenya: EquipHer Conference 2025
We are headed to Nairobi, Kenya on August 15–25 to host our EquipHer Conference, empowering local women leaders with trauma-informed care, tools and spiritual support. Carol, our leader on the ground said: “These women leaders need care for their own self and resources to take to their community.” That will be our goal for the week; to care for the women while giving practical resources to continue their work on the ground.
We are in full planning mode and we’d love for you to partner with us on our trip. There’s room to join us but time is running out to find affordable plane tickets. If you’re interested, send us a message ASAP. If you can’t join us, partner with us by sponsoring one of the women. It cost $55 to care for one of the women leaders. We will have 100 in attendance. So partner with us to join our sisters on their healing journeys.
ElevateHer - Haiti: Women Monthly Cohort
In the midst of ongoing crises, the women of Haiti continue to show up—month after month—to support one another on their healing journeys. Once a month, the ElevateHer team meets virtually with women leaders in Cap-Haïtien to offer trauma-informed teaching rooted in the Word of God.
These gatherings are not only a time of teaching but also a space for receiving. Despite facing their own hardships, these women show remarkable strength and courage, remaining focused and steadfast. Their posture inspires me deeply and reminds me to keep pressing forward.
In this month’s leadership session, we wrestled with a profound question: How do we handle God’s silence? Guided by the story of Hagar in Genesis 16, we reflected on what it means to be seen by God even in our wilderness. Sister Sony shared a powerful reflection: “What you give to us, I give to them. What I gain, they gain.”
This is the heart of ElevateHer: we pour into women so they can pour into others.
Please join us in praying for these resilient leaders and in supporting the sacred work they continue to do in their communities.
ElevateHer - Mombasa, Kenya: Good News Update!
Last year, ElevateHer hosted a powerful conference for women in Mombasa, Kenya. After returning home, we continued walking alongside the local leaders through online cohorts focused on grief and domestic violence.
At the conclusion of the program, the leaders shared a practical need: sewing machines—tools that would allow women to support themselves and care for their families. We listened. And thanks to the generosity of our gala attendees, we raised enough funds to provide sewing machines for every woman in need.
Fast forward to today: these women got to work right away, sharpening their skills and sewing for members of their churches, communities, and local markets. And here's the cherry on top—one of the recipients was a man in the church, showing that healing ripples beyond gender.
At ElevateHer, our mantra isn’t just words—it’s truth: “When you heal women, you heal the world.”
Something for you: Tips to Ground Yourself
All around the world, there seems to be chaos—but remember the words of Psalm 46:1–2: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.”
Take a page from the brave and faithful women of Haiti. In the midst of crisis, they’ve found simple yet powerful ways to stay grounded and connected. Here are some of the practices they’ve shared with us:
Pull Back and Pause
Sometimes the best way forward is to stop and breathe. Give yourself permission to slow down and simply be.
Take a Social Media Break
Constant input can overwhelm the soul. Step away from the noise to make space for peace.
Sing a Joyful Song
Whether alone or with others, singing lifts the spirit and reminds you that joy is still within reach.
Go on Daily Walks
Move your body and let nature remind you of what is steady and sacred.
Meditation and Prayer
Stillness allows you to reconnect with God, your breath, and your inner strength.
Join Healthy Communities
We weren’t meant to do life alone. Find spaces where you are encouraged, seen, and supported.
