José Humphreys is a native New Yorker, social worker, consultant and Lead Collaborator at Mosaic Collaborative, LLC. He has worked in this capacity with nonprofits and churches for over 18 years, organizing neighborhood groups and faith leaders around justice issues. José has also provided technical assistance and training around culture building, organizational development, transformative dialogue and emotionally intelligent leadership.

Together with his wife, Mayra, and others, José began Metro Hope Covenant Church, a multi-ethnic church that meets in Harlem’s historic National Black Theater. Metro Hope is part of a larger church movement with a heart for the city, which draws artists, young families and professionals from Greater Harlem and the metro area.

As a communicator, José has received the call to write, facilitate, teach and train. José graduated with a Master of Social Work from the Hunter College School of Social Work where he received the Reva Fine Holtzman award for outstanding field research and practice. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary.

José resides in East Harlem with his wife Mayra and ten year-old son, Javier.
